Project overview.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Fan Tailgate, was a large-scale international fan event supporting the NFL's first Dublin game. From September 26–28, 2025, Merrion Square Park became a three-day festival destination for thousands of fans.

We executed end-to-end planning of this central fan hub for the Steelers-Vikings matchup, featuring a live watch party, sponsor activations, merchandise, and interactive zones for all ages. A curated food and beverage offering and classic games created an authentic tailgate atmosphere that was inclusive and family-friendly while maintaining strong NFL brand alignment.

Through strategic programming and operational delivery, the event created a high-impact platform for fan connection and sponsor visibility, positioning Dublin as a key international market and strengthening global engagement with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Challenge.

How do you translate one of the most iconic franchises in American sport into a live, culturally relevant experience for a European audience?


The Pittsburgh Steelers set out to break beyond traditional fan bases and build meaningful brand awareness in Ireland, while using the market as a launchpad to attract fans from across Europe. The challenge was not simply to host an event, but to create a three-day Fan Tailgate that immersed attendees in the world of the Steelers, regardless of their familiarity with American Football.


This meant designing an experience that could unite die-hard fans and curious newcomers alike, balancing authenticity with accessibility. Across three days, the Fan Tailgate needed to celebrate the Steelers’ heritage, values, and game-day energy, while removing barriers to entry and making American Football feel inclusive, social, and fun.


Success would be measured by the ability to spark genuine connection: maximising fan engagement, encouraging participation, and leaving attendees with a lasting emotional association with the Steelers brand, long after the final whistle.

Solution.

We delivered a fully immersive, American-style Fan Tailgate experience, managing the event end-to-end to ensure every touchpoint brought the Pittsburgh Steelers brand to life.

In September 2025, Merrion Square Park was transformed into the epicentre of Steelers fandom, welcoming thousands of fans across three sold-out days. From concept to execution, we oversaw every element of delivery, combining meticulous logistical planning with bold, bespoke branding and high-impact AV and production to recreate the energy and atmosphere of a true game-day tailgate.

A tightly curated supplier ecosystem ensured seamless delivery across food & beverage, production, infrastructure, and fan activations, while robust health & safety and on-site medical cover safeguarded the experience for all attendees. Close collaboration with key stakeholders enabled smooth operations, crowd flow, and attendee management at scale.

Result.

The three-day Fan Tailgate sold out in advance, welcoming over 18,000 fans to Merrion Square Park and establishing itself as a must-attend Dublin event. A strong community spirit defined the weekend, with local youth groups participating in flag football sessions that added energy and authenticity throughout.

A curated programme of live entertainment kept fans engaged, featuring Irish dancers, local bands, the Steelers drumline, and exclusive video content. Daily Q&A sessions with Steelers legends including Ben Roethlisberger, Ike Taylor, and Maurkice Pouncy delivered unforgettable up close moments for fans. Sunday's watch party was a standout highlight, driving peak engagement as fans experienced the game collectively.

Seamless delivery across activation zones, merchandise, sponsors, VIP areas, and food and beverage ensured smooth crowd flow and encouraged exploration. The event achieved exceptional brand visibility for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, leaving a lasting footprint in the Irish market.
